Hey there,
Putting an outfit on should make you feel good. I think it does something for your self-confidence, it can put that spring in your step and brighten your day.
My interest in secondhand clothing started when I was on my OE back in the 80s at the age of 20. I left Aotearoa, New Zealand on a 5 year adventure. Starting in California as a Nanny was the beginning of my amazing journey.
It was the start of life experience, growing up and independence. Then onto London where the fun and hunt began for that unique item of clothing, leather bag, piece of jewellery or whatever else I could find. I always embraced the attitude of the Londoners who didn’t bat an eyelid no matter what you wore! Not that I was too eccentric or lived too dangerously with regard to my outfits, but I loved wearing something a little different to the everchanging trends.
I do like trends, sometimes, and keep an eye on them, but don’t necessarily follow them. I have instilled this into my kids from a young age too. “Don't be afraid to wear something just a little different, keep an eye on the trends maybe but don't be one of the masses”. The op shop hunting has never really stopped. I love the fact so many people have now embraced the recycled route.
I have a passion for fashion is all I can say. My Mum always loved clothes and I always think I followed in her footsteps by liking something a little different. We both sewed too, and this enabled us to create one-of-a-kind pieces of clothing.
Some people find shopping for clothes overwhelming and all too hard, whereas I thrive in this realm. That's why I've created Twine. The quality you can find in the pre-loved sector for a fraction of the retail price is crazy. I want to pass this on to others by removing the hassle of the hunt.
With Twine, I've scoured the clothing racks for you and put together curated bundles of items that just work together. One less thing for you to think about in this busy life!
